Miami, FL. August 31st, 2009 - Grammy Award winning Canadian-Portuguese superstar Nelly Furtado has made history by reaching NUMBER ONE on Billboard’s HOT LATIN SONGS chart with her single "MANOS AL AIRE," the lead single off of "Mi Plan," her fourth studio album which is her first completely recorded in Spanish. This is the first time that a North American artist makes this achievement with a song that was originally written in Spanish, not a translated version of an English language song.

Nelly Furtado’s upcoming album “Mi Plan” will be released on September 14th in more than 50 countries, and on September 15th in the U.S. The first single, “Manos Al Aire”, is already a success in Germany and Italy, where it had been #1 in radio, as well as in Colombia, Chile and Central America. The single is also Top 5 in Mexico, Spain and Argentina.
