The burly bodyguards, the anxious makeup assistant, the aura of casual conspicuousness -- it's all there. But a few minutes later, seated poolside and sipping chamomile tea after swapping her high heels for slippers, Furtado is as sensible as her footwear. Now that "Mi Plan" is out and I have been able to share it with you guys, I go back and think how interesting the creation process is. I personally can only write if I am inspired, and the inspiration for this album was my daily life and everyday moments. I would go to the studio and meet with Lester Mendez or Alex Cuba and James Bryan and they would play a track for me and based on what had happened in my day the melodies would start flowing and words or images would come to my head, I would then sit with Alex or Lester and finish the lyrics to the melodies that the feeling of the song inspired me. Someday I would love to show you guys how the melodies are born and then you can compare it with the finished song....I don't know just felt like sharing that with you!

ATLANTA - Nelly Furtado made history by reaching Number One on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart with her single "Manos Al Aire," the lead single off of "Mi Plan," her fourth studio album which is her first completely recorded in Spanish. This is the first time that a North American artist makes this achievement with a song that was originally written in Spanish, not a translated version of an English language song. Hey guys !Its been so long since I last blogged i know , I'm in debt with all of you, I promise to work hard for my blog- a- day, but the new album has taken all my time away! I'm immersed in photo shoots, rehearsals, travels and lots of stress having everything ready for the BIG day!! I wanted to thank each one of you for the comments and all the support you've been given me day after day! We're just few days away from my new album release and this part is tough, despite the hard work and effort this album has demanded from everyone working in it, my fan's support is the most important, knowing that this new album is for all of you, I'm wishing that you enjoy it as much as i've had. i'm counting the days, and i'm ready to read all the comments i hope you'll write!! Hey Everyone! I can't believe that in a few short weeks, you will all be able to hear my fourth studio album, and my first ever in Spanish! 'Mi Plan' is being released on September 15th and I hope you guys love it. After releasing and touring to promote 'Loose' I wasn't sure what I wanted to do next. I wasn't feeling too inspired. Recording in Spanish, though, has created a whole new way for me to express myself, and completely re-invigorated my love of making music. 'Mi Plan' has some of the most amazing collaborations that I've ever done and I feel very fortunate to have worked with incredibly talented artists. Transcurrido el día y con nubes amenazando tormenta, los músicos de Nelly Furtado salieron para ejecutar los temas: “I’m like a bird”, “Turn Off the Ligths” y “Maneater”, que cantaron sus coristas. Cuando parecía que el ensayo de la intérprete canadiense terminaría, con los primeras notas de “Más”, su nuevo sencillo, Furtado brincó al escenario para hacer mancuerna con sus músicos y saludando al público, incluyendo a su club de fans de Guadalajara, agradeció y con un “los quiero mucho” terminó la canción que pertenece a Manos al Aire, su más reciente álbum.
