ATLANTA - Nelly Furtado made history by reaching Number One on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart with her single "Manos Al Aire," the lead single off of "Mi Plan," her fourth studio album which is her first completely recorded in Spanish. This is the first time that a North American artist makes this achievement with a song that was originally written in Spanish, not a translated version of an English language song.

-Imeen: First question, why do an all Spanish language album now? What triggered it?
-Nelly: Well when i started to work on the new album i had no inspiration, then i tired it in Spanish and everything seemed to come together

-Imeen: That's awesome it worked out that way. Do you ever dream in Spanish? Has a song ever come to you in a dream?
-Nelly: Yes, while writing the songs for this album some ideas came in my sleep...maybe a word or a melody

-Imeen: Cool, so tell us something funny/inspirational/awesome about Alex Cuba...
-Nelly: Alex Cuba is the nicest guy! he is an incredible musician & he was my partner in crime writing 7 of the songs in the album he would say: "you paint the picture I will frame it!"

-Imeen: You must feel blessed to have worked with such talented producers so far, have you ever thought about trying it out yourself?
-Nelly: I actually coproduced 3 on this album including "Mi Plan" I lov producing & workin w great producers 2 make songs the best they can b

-Imeen: If you had not become a singer, what would you be?

-Imeen: what's the craziest thing you've ever experienced at a concert? Either your show or one you just attended
-Nelly: i think falling off the stage! the lights were 2 bright on my eyes & didnt c the edge. fortunately my manage was close & caught me

-Imeen: Wow what a close call! Last question, what are your top 3 favorite songs on the new album? If you HAD to choose!
-Nelly: thats a very tough one but if i HAD to choose! it'd be: bajo otra luz, silencio, fuerte, como lluvia, manos al aire & mi plan uups :)
